Extreme Makeover: Blog Edition!
All right people, I have a favour to ask of you guys... I really, really want a template change, but I don't know how to do it! I'm totally and utterly hopeless with HTML and stuff... soooooo, I'm
depending on y'all to help me out here...
My blog looks drab. It needs a makeover. I can't do it. Can you? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
I want something spiffy, but I'm not picky. Anything more colourful and cheerful than the current blah-ness will be appreciated.
To volunteer, please leave a comment and I'll arrange it so that I can email you the password and you can work your magic!
Shukran (thank you) in advance! :)
Your little sister in Islam,
Mouse
Just change it the normal way, using blogger !
ReplyDeleteIt would be better if you weaved your own "magic", as you'll feel a lot happier with the results.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a design in mind, i would be most happy to help you implement it.
Don't worry, grass will not enter the equation... hehe
Travelling stranger: I want something different from what's offered on blogger...
ReplyDeleteiMuslim: Ooooh, I'll gladly take you up on your offer! Shukran jazeelan! :) Hmmmm... I'm not sure if I should go with a 'mouse' theme (lots of swiss cheese, lol! :P), or if I should stick to 'simple yet tasteful'...
asalamu alaikum
ReplyDeleteOh I was thinking of a template change as well. Sorry I'm not techno-savy either. Can't wait to see the changes though.
Cool, I'll email you, inshallah...
ReplyDelete*rubs her hands with evil - er, i mean, artistic, glee*
Muslimah: I had the exact same template that you are using now, when i first started my blog. Visiting your place brought back memories (all the way from Oct 2006!).
ReplyDeleteHi Mouse,
ReplyDeleteI have perhaps an idea for a concept to a new design, check it out on this address,
http://abcd1234-sweden1975.blogspot.com/#
Tell me what you think! Rember it is just an idea and not a finished page, everything can be changed. You can put it up yourself, no need to give out your password. If you don't like it we make another. :)
About Little Mosque On The Prairie I am sure that you will love it. Why don't you just download it from internet and watch it on your computer?
To do that you need a bittorrent program, for example µTorrent,
Get µTorrent 1.6 Installation Program (597 kB)
http://www.utorrent.com/download.php
So, when you have downloaded and installed µTorrent, you can find the first episode here:

ReplyDeleteMortalMuslim: Shukran! I’m glad you like my blog! :)
Assalamu alaikum sister,
ReplyDeleteI have being reading your blog via RSS for sometime now and I really like what you write. Inshallah maybe in some years time we can expect a great religious Muslim woman writer working for Allah's sake alone. Ameen.
Just a brotherly suggestion before I go any further, NEVER THRUST ANYONE ONLINE however much you know them. Giving away a password online is Internet suicide. Any computer expert will tell you that and they have thousands of reasons for it. Do not give away access to anyone unless you're sure of who they are.
On your present endure- I have some graphic design skills. Don't you think a graphical banner in the top of your blog will make it more attractive and will be encouraging to your readers? If you would like I can make you a banner for your blog according to your wishes. You can contact me at - unitemuslims(at)gmail(dot)com
FYI -e.g. I have put up 2 graphical banners I made in my blogs;
Muslim Unity

Unite Muslims

Wa ‘alaikumus-salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu,
ReplyDeleteJazakAllahu khair, brother Malik! :)
Don’t worry, I know all the rules about Internet safety… and I definitely trust sister iMuslim (we’ve corresponded before), so there is no problem about it now, al-Hamdulillaah.
Once again, jazakAllahu khair for your concern and advice!
Your little sister in Islam,
Mouse
Good work on the updated template. I imagine this is the handiwork of iMuslim? Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm bored of my template too. But that's the least of my concerns these days.
Masha'Allah. I love the new look :D
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to see the new look!
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to see the new look!
I was shocked to see the new look!
That said, it is wonderful. iMuslim does dandy designing.
asalamu alaikum
ReplyDeletehmm it's okay.....I like the mouse on the top!
Hi Mouse,
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of design is this? It is one of the most ugly and common I ever seen. Why didn't you let me help you? Oh, I understand. Ok, I will never write anything more to you.
A parting quotation, (Yws, I know that young women is tired of good advice but still! : )
"Then be not spendthrift of your honesty,
But keep it to yourself; in Padua
Men think that honesty is ostentatious, so
It is not of the fashion.
So be not honest; eccentricity
Is not a thing should ever be encouraged,
Although, in this dull stupid age of ours,
The most eccentric thing a man can do
Is to have brains, then the mob mocks at him;
And for the mob, despise it as I do,
I hold its bubble praise and windy favours
In such account, that popularity
Is the one insult I have never suffered."
By Oscar Wilde - The Duchess of Padua. I do recommend him.
bye
Faraz, anonymous, manas, Muslimah - shukran! I'm glad you like it! But all the credit goes to iMuslim... :)
ReplyDeleteSweden: Well, I like it. So there. Thanks for posting the poem!
