I had another idea... I've noticed that in this Western culture, many people don't pay much attention to anything that they don't see on TV. And, when they see something on TV, they often attach importance to it. For example, have you heard of the CSI effect? When CSI started airing, it became pretty popular, and people started getting interested in science and crime scene investigating and stuff - to the point that when they were called up for jury duty, they wanted to see evidence such as blood, fingerprints, videotapes, etc. for white-collar crimes!
As well, if people want to draw attention to certain issues, they do something on TV about it. In certain shows, they bring up issues such as sex and drugs and get the characters involved in it somehow (usually by getting in trouble and then trying to get out of that trouble).
Well, my idea is that maybe a way of getting people to pay more attention to issues such as Palestine would be to make TV shows or movies about it. Like, what about a TV show about two families - one Palestinian, one Israeli - who are living in Palestine and Israel respectively, and they have to deal with all sorts of issues.
Stuff like the checkpoint humiliations, the bombings, the illegal arrests... combine that with personal problems for the characters, unexpected twists and turns, and viola! You have an intense TV drama show! Action, romance, sorrow and grief, happy times, controversial issues... Have it air on primetime, and I guarantee that people will start paying more attention to the Palestinian cause. Their interest will be piqued, and maybe they'll start doing independent research and try to learn more about it.

Agreed, but there will be complications, a lot of people would boycott this product, especially the westerners, they are too biased and too pro-israelis. For some of them, the palestinians should be suffering even more ...

I wonder, would you deal with subjects such as honor killings, female circumcision, suicide bombing, religious fanaticism, etc?
Or would you just try to show everybody how poor and suffering the Palestinians are?
The truth is the Palestinians are suffering because of their leaders. Because their leaders would rather instigate war than try to improve their standards of living.
BTW: I perfectly agree that TV is a good mean of drawing attention to issues.

Let me remind you, Mouse is talking about the current situation in Palestine and Israel.
You are talking about Suicide bombing or Religious fanaticism, but do you know, why they exist? Why people, deliberately attach a bomb to themselves, just to try to kill a few people and themselves with it? Is it plain terrorism in palestine, or a desperate act, to share their suffering with others, the mother who saw his son shot by IDF, the Israeli who saw his parents died from suicide bombers? It's a vicious circle. A whirpool of hatred, that will continue on. And of course, show how, religion pour in, from both side of the conflict. It would be a joke, if you refer to only one, extremist group. AIPAC/HAMAS etc... etc...
Once again, Mouse talked about a plot, with an Israeli and a Palestinian, it should cover, what the average Israeli think of the Palestinian and vice-versa. On one hand, the suffering of both, whether mentally or physically, due to the conflict. The average Israeli would think that the palestinian want to kill, but still ponder on questions like Why? and the Palestinian sees the Israeli as an oppressor, and just like the Israeli, wonder WHY? he/she is being punished.

Sorta true. Hamas, is an organization who should according to the UN be brought before a court as a War criminal but what about the US and Israel, who kill innocents on a daily basis? Even if the US is not directly committing crimes, it's supporting Israel in doing them.

Never seen an AIPAC member strap himself with explosives and bomb restaurants anywhere. As for Hammas members, it happens from time to time.
You may disagree with AIPAC, or believe they have disproportionate power, but your chance of getting killed by them are practically zero (unless you get into an argument with them, in which case you will die of boredom)
True, I don't KNOW why suicide bombing and extremism exist; Lately I started advocating the theory that it roots in sexual oppression in the Muslim society.
I had times when I thought Israel does not want peace, and Israel is to blame for all the wrongs in the middle east. But what does Israel have to do with the Muslim Brothers terrorist activity in Egypt? Or the terrorism in Afghanistan? Jordan? Saudi Arabia? Sudan?
I also thought that hopelessness leads to suicide bombing. Why, then, were Brits involved in bombings? What were they suffering in Cambridge?
No. This is deeper. This is about Islam Extremists wanting to impose their rule on the world. Muslim extremists are sort of like the KKK of Islam. Hating, and wanting to kill all that are unlike them.

Actually, that post about Sexual Oppression gave me a good laugh, needed one especially when I just woke up.
But I will have to disagree, that kind of oppression exists in tribalist lifestyle, but I doubt it's because the girl is ugly or the boy is. Anyway, it was really stupid and funny at the same time.
In Islam, when someone actually reaches Heaven, he won't get 72 virgins, seriously, won't you be tempted to go all kaboom kaboom when you hear that :P. These extremists are only manipulating those poor bastids to commit suicide bombing.
Lets take a good example, a young muslim man, living in a society, where he is alienated, whether by his skin color, his religion or his accent. He tends to group people of the same ethnic background as himself, example in England. These are the potential targets of extremism, they are rejected by society. They are the one, extremist imans will come to, not to tempt them to kill themselves in the name of god, but to show them, a form of kindness, giving them hope that there will be a better tomorrow, and tomorrow, they are all arrested as suspects on a plane ... LOL.

I have no hate for Arabs, Christians or Muslims. I have a lot of hate for those who commit suicide bombing, to those who poison their minds to that extent, and to those who put the weapons in their hands.
Likewise Wagamama. IMHO, it's understanding the problem first, understanding, the WHY, why do these guys do such horrible things, that help us solve the problem, and save them.
Just imagine, a 12 year old kid, walking to you with tnt wrapped around him. I would want to help him, even I in reality, I will run to find some cover :S. If I was chuck norris I would roundhouse kick him in the face and hope he lose consciousness, and get rid of the c4, but I aint chuck, meh ...
Anyway, I don't hate jews/christians or people of other faith as well, I only hate racists. I just read a comment that still give me shivers about the western world ....
